With the weather getting warmer later this week, you might be thinking of getting some seeds to do some planting.

When you’re buying those seeds keep in mind that there are some seeds you won’t have to pay the state sales tax on, but there are others you will.

“Vegetable seeds are not taxed,” Judy Bordenuk of the Sixteen Acres Garden Center told 22News. “But all other seeds are: flower seeds, grass seeds, all taxable.”

According to the Mass.gov website there is no sales tax on fertilizer, but you will have pay the sales tax on potting soil.

For a list of what is and isn’t tax exempt you can go to the Mass.gov website.
