There was a steady stream of cars on Interstate 91 in Springfield Friday as many people headed off to their Easter holiday destinations.
Passengers at Peter Pan at Union Station are traveling to visit family over the holiday.
“I’m going back to New York to see my mother my daughter and my granddaughter for the holiday coming up,” said Rafael Dejesus of Springfield.
According to USA Today, Easter weekend ranks as ninth among the top ten worst travel days of the year.
Chris Crean, the Vice President of Safety and Security for Peter Pan Bus Lines said they are ready for the increase in passengers.
“We’re prepared for it, heavy travel through the weekend, today and tomorrow and Sunday we’ll add an approximate 500 plus sections so everybody can get to their destinations,” said Crean.
Crean says that a lot of people are traveling to places like New York, Boston and Washington D.C.
