The Hulu TV series Castle Rock premieres next week.
Orange residents are excited for the first season of Castle Rock, which premieres next Wednesday. The tv series boosted the town’s economy in a big way and now residents will see their town star in the new Hulu TV series.
The tv series based on the horror novels written by Stephen King. Castle Rock began filming in Orange about a year ago.
Most of the filming that was done in Orange was right in the downtown area.
Castle Rock donated $10,000 for allowing them to film there. It was used to improve parks and The police department, fire department and the DPW.
“That is the cool thing we want to see it,” said Paul Anderson, co-owner of Trail Head Outfitters & General Store. “And I think everybody wants to see it. People are sitting there saying, ‘I don’t like creepy stuff, but I gotta see Orange, I gotta see what it looks like.'”
Castle Rock finished filming in January, but some businesses are still going by their Castle Rock names, like the Castle Rock Pizza Factory.
Town officials said Castle Rock had a huge economic impact.
“A lof the crew stayed in town and of course they ate in town and used our businesses so it was a big indirect impact as well,” said Adrienne Bedaw, community development administrator.
Bedaw told 22News the production company donated $10,000 to help them improve their parks, police and fire departments. She said many Orange residents are planning Castle Rock viewing parties in their homes next week.
Bedaw said Castle Rock is interested in filming in Orange again next year, for a possible second season.
