Dozens of people were at Forest Park for the final night of this year’s Forest Park Summer Concert series.
The free concerts were open to the public and held at the Amphitheater in Forest Park on the last three Thursdays of June.
The concert was rescheduled because of last week’s rain. Leon Spradley closed out the series with an old school jazz and R&B set.
“It brings the community together,” Curtis Wright of Springfield told 22News. “It brings everybody together. You get to hopefully make new friends and meet new people. People get to socialize and do something positive in the community and meet the community.”
Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno was at Thursday’s concert where he recognized those who have worked hard to make the series a success.
22News was recognized for being a sponsor of the event.
