Avengers: Endgame had the biggest opening night in movie history Thursday.
After a record-breaking opening night Thursday, Avengers: Endgame drew big crowds into Agawam Cinemas Friday night. Some people secured their tickets far in advance.
Isabella Hill of Agawam told 22News, “Maybe three weeks ago. It’s kind of a big deal for me, I’ve been waiting for like a year probably now since the last movie came out.”
The latest, and maybe final installment of the Avengers franchise sent fans into a frenzy. The movie had a rating of 96 percent on Rotten Tomatoes as of Friday night, and some moviegoers were majorly trying to avoid any spoilers before seeing it themselves.
“I deleted the Instagram app today and just haven’t gotten on my phone at all today,” said Hill.
And many fans had been making plans to see the movie well in advance.
Kim Wheeler of the Agawam Cinemas told 22News, “This movie is breaking some records”
Fandango said on Thursday that Endgame was the biggest pre-seller in history.
“They have been purchasing for weeks. We had a lot of people who knew how crazy it was going to be, so they said, ‘you know what, I need to get on that.’ Then there is the last minute, ‘let’s go to a movie,’ and I think a lot of people are surprised that a lot of the shows are sold out.”
The movie theater said they are anticipating a very busy weekend, and encourage anyone wanting tickets to Avengers: Endgame, to buy them before you get to the movie theater.
