(WANE) – The Monday after people Spring Forward is known as National Napping Day.
People moved their clocks one hour forward for Daylight Saving Time on Sunday morning, causing many to lose an extra hour of sleep. That’s why a Boston University professor and his wife created National Napping Day on the following Monday.
It started back in 1999. Their goal was to highlight the health benefits of napping.
People are encouraged to snap a sleeping selfie and use #nationalnappingday on social media to share in getting a few extra zzz’s.
