The Springfield City Library is hosting its annual ChibiCon this weekend.
The free two-day comics convention kicked off Saturday and celebrates anime and comics. The event features costumes, art, trivia contests, as well as an anime film festival.
“The idea was to recreate an anime Comicon as close to an actual convention as we can,” said Sarah Hodge-Wetherbe. “We do have a lot of families with teens in the area, teens that are interested in this type of thing, but they don’t always have the money to go to the official Comicon like Boston or Hartford.
The event runs through Sunday at the Springfield City Library on State Street.
