Fans confident, excited after Patriots win AFC Championship game against Chiefs

It was a very close, and at times, very frustrating AFC Championship game. But the Patriots are going to the Super Bowl after beating the Chiefs Sunday night 37-31.

Walking into Sunday night’s game fans were confident the Patriots would return to New England with a win and did they ever.

The New England Patriots marched down the field on the opening possession of Sunday night’s game kicking off the excitement for Patriots fans watching the AFC Championship Game against the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium and hoping for…

“A win! The Patriots are going to Atlanta we’re not losing,” said Kim Bernier of East Longmeadow.

The Patriots held the upper hand in the first half taking a 14-0 lead over the Chiefs just before halftime.

22News spoke with Patriots fans in western Massachusetts who said the team went to Kansas City prepared to bring home a win.

One Patriots fan told 22News, even if the Patriots lost Sunday night’s game, he has high hopes for next season.

“They had a slow start, I think that as the year progressed they got better and better. I think they’re peaking right now,” said Ken Ross of Springfield. “You know, next season we’ll have a better chance at it.”

The Los Angeles Rams are NFC Champions and will go head-to-head with the Patriots for Super Bowl 53.

So, again the final score in overtime — Patriots are going to the Super Bowl, beating the Chiefs 37-31.
