Forest Park residents and police walk for public safety

News

Forest Park residents talked public safety in their neighborhood with city officials Tuesday night.

Mayor Sarno led a neighborhood walk along with members of the Springfield Police Department and Code Enforcement officers.

Wendy Walker, who lives in the neighborhood, told 22News she just wants a peaceful place to live. “They’re taking a walk through the neighborhood, which I think is important because we all live here, and we all want to live in peace without having any violence or gun shootings or drug dealing and the whole shpiel. So I think it’s a good thing.”

Recently there was a deadly shooting and a drug bust on Fort Pleasant Ave in the Forest Park section of Springfield.
