MYSTIC, Conn. (WWLP) – Crews from several towns in southern Connecticut and Rhode Island helped put out a fire at Seaport Marine in Mystic Sunday night.
At around 9 p.m. crews were called to Washington Street for smoke in the area of Seaport Marine. Mystic Fire Chief told our sister station, WTNH that the fire spread rapidly due to the wind. He confirmed that Prestige Yacht Sales was destroyed due to the fire.
The fire was put out at around 1:30 a.m. and no injuries were reported according to Manfredi. One firefighter was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation but has since been released.
Old Mystic Fire Department was requested to assist with the fire and provided two engines to supply water. East Great Plains and Voluntown Fire Departments also provided additional assistance.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
