Getting your lawn mower ready for the season

After some wet weather, we’ve enjoyed some nice spring sunshine over the last few days. The trees are budding, the grass is getting green and starting to grow and it may be ready to be mowed for the first time this spring.

“Yeah I did yesterday, yeah it’s getting up there a little bit, fertilized it so it started shooting up,” said John Goodfellow of Agawam.

There are some important things you should do to your lawn mower before you start to use it for the season.

“For your lawn mower you want to make sure you have a new air filter, blades check your blades, make sure they’re sharp, make sure you change the oil, new spark plug,” said Bob Parent of Rocky’s Ace Hardware in Agawam.

If you haven’t already cleaned up your lawn there are still plenty of rakes available at Rocky’s Ace Hardware In Agawam. Now is also a good time to start putting down fertilizer as well.
