SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Hundreds of teenage girls who are serious about their futures made sure to get good advice Saturday at a Springfield college event called the “Girl’s Empowerment Summit”.

There, they attended workshops on everything from building their self-esteem to looking ahead to college life. The summit for girls age 13 through 18, was designed to help them build their self-confidence.

Brianna Johnson, From the Girl’s Empowerment Summit said, “There are many things that go on in our lives, times that can get hard. But we really want to give people the message if you believe in yourself, anything is possible.”

The girl’s empowerment summit was hosted by Springfield College, and sponsored by the Springfield urban league and Martin Luther King Junior family services.
