Granville Police working to reward good drivers

News

GRANVILLE, Mass. (WWLP) – The Granville Police Department will soon be pulling over drivers for “Driving Safely.”

Police Chief Scott Flebotte told 22News, starting December 19th, officers will be rewarding “Good Drivers” with a gift card to Mrs. Murphy’s Donuts in Southwick.

Brian Hansen of Granville said it’s the first time he’s actually looked forward to being pulled over; “That’s actually awesome, especially right around Christmas. It’s a heck of a lot better than a speeding ticket. I’d be amazed, I don’t have that kind of good luck actually.”

Chief Flebotte said drivers breaking the law will still get a ticket. Gift cards are meant to encourage safe holiday driving, and are only for drivers who obey the law.
