A gym dedicated to Parkinson’s patients has moved.

DopaFit is a Parkinson’s Movement Center, and it now has a new location in Southampton.

DopaFit is a fitness center providing an alternative therapy for people living with Parkinson’s disease.
Its previous spot was at the Eastworks building in Easthampton.

Now, the facility has moved to 15 College Highway in Southampton, across the street from the Big Y.

The center celebrated a grand re-opening this past Saturday. The new space can now accommodate more people.

“We have a very booming population here so with classes that get upwards of 20 people it’s really important that we have the space to move around and get some new equipment in,” Chad Moir, owner, told 22News. “We have over 20 boxing bags, battle ropes, and spin bikes. so we’re really excited to have enough space to fit everything.”

The exercises that DopaFit provides help stabilize some of the symptoms associated with Parkinson’s.

The owner said he hopes to bring in more people to the new center.
