“Hampshire Hope” provided free narcan training in Northampton

There was free narcan training in Northampton Sunday evening.

“Hampshire Hope” provided free narcan training and handed out free narcan following the “Cathedral in the Night” service and meal at the First Churches of Northampton on Main Street.

“Hampshire HOPE” is a coalition addressing the rise in prescription opioid misuse, heroin use, addiction, and overdose death in Hampshire County.

Cherry Sullivan, from the organization, told 22News there’s been a rise in overdose fatalities, “In northampton we are definetly seeing a rise in fatal and non fatal overdose this year and having access to narcan is one of the most important ways to help save someone’s life. “

The training was free and open to the public.
