Pancreatic cancer is one of the deadliest cancers.
Pancreatic cancer is almost undetectable until it’s in the late stages.
The pancreas helps us regulate sugar and other nutrients and it also helps us digest food. There is no way of detecting the cancer until it’s in its late stages when people are presenting symptoms.
Doctors at Baystate Medical Center explained why this cancer is so deadly.
“The reason is we are detecting this cancer at late stages to start with and there’s a very limited good response to chemotherapy,” said Dr. Nicholas Jabbour of surgery at Baystate Medical Center.
Symptoms of pancreatic cancer include Gaudeamus, sudden weight loss, and back pain.
If you have a family history of pancreatic cancer, sudden weight loss, or discoloration of the skin and eyes you should consult a doctor.
