Some of the most difficult air to breath in the country is in western Massachusetts.
The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America named the Springfield area “the most challenging place for people with asthma.”
Sarita Hudson explained to 22News that’s due to traffic pollution settling in the valley, and high amounts of pollen.
Hudson said taking your medication properly is key to dealing with asthma during the allergy season.
“Many people don’t take their medications correctly, so we’re working with people on how to take their medication properly as well as what are the triggers in their home they may not even be aware of,” Hudson went on to say.
Hudson told 22News that strongly scented home cleaning products can be one of the main triggers for asthma.
