(KVOA) A record setting heatwave currently hitting Tucson, Arizona has desert dwellers out and very active.

Rural Metro Fire Department has been busy with rattlesnake calls, which are flooding in much sooner than normal for February.

Last week alone, Rural Metro firefighters have removed 13 rattlesnakes from homes. So far this year, they have had about 40 requests for snake removals, which is nearly double the number of the same time last year.
