How Monday’s snowstorm impacted President’s Day shopping

News

President’s Day weekend is almost over, and that means time is running out to land big bargains.

Local residents didn’t let a few inches of snow Monday morning stop them from scoring big savings on furniture and other big-ticket items.

President’s Day weekend is always a big weekend for car dealerships and furniture and appliance stores.

Many residents were at Raymour and Flanigan in West Springfield shopping Monday looking for President’s Day deals.

One woman told 22News she wasn’t going to let the snow Monday morning prevent her from getting her shopping done.

“It was a little bit tough, I took my time getting here. I’m hoping to get around some of the crowds. I hope some people stayed in today,” said Caryn Lecca of Ludlow.

Raymour and Flanigan Store Manager Chris Roy told 22News they sell more furniture on President’s Day weekend than any other time of the year besides Columbus Day weekend.

Roy said a lot more people are shopping for deals online, but there are still more customers who prefer buying their items in the store.
