Hundreds came out for Easthampton Police Department’s “cookout with a cop” Thursday night.
The police took over Williston Ave, where officers grilled up one thousand hamburgers and hot dogs.
There was music, dog demonstrations, and police and fire equipment on display. The cookout helps residents get to know police officers on a more personal level.
Easthampton Police Sgt. Chad Alexander told 22News, “We have more equipment, a lot more of our gear is out on display for kids and adults to try on to see what we wear on a daily basis. We also have canines here from other departments joining our canine Geno.”
This is the third year the Easthampton Police department has held their cookout with a cop.
