I-Team: Controversy over Ballot Question 1 nurse staffing quotas

I-Team

Nurses say YES and nurses say NO on Ballot Question #1. Over the past few months, this initiative has generated a lot of buzz, and a lot of confusion among voters.

If passed, the ballot initiative would create nurse-to-patient ratios for staffing, varying from one patient per nurse, to five patients per nurse, depending on the hospital unit.

The 22News I-Team dug deeper into the facts so you know exactly what you’re voting for, including examining studies from California, the only state that has mandated nurse to patient ratios.

If you’re still unsure on how you plan to vote on Ballot Question #1, be sure to watch the 22News I-Team report on Thursday, November 1, on 22News at 6pm.
