I-Team: How complaints against nurses can lead to license suspension or revocation

I-Team

When you or friend or family member requires medical treatment or a stay in the hospital or a rehab facility you expect to get the best care.  But there are exceptions.

The 22News I-Team discovered dozens of incidents have occurred at healthcare facilities in western Massachusetts, and some of them have put patients at risk.

We sifted through hundreds of documents from the state to find out why nurses in western Massachusetts have had their licenses suspended, revoked, or voluntarily surrendered in recent years. The offenses range from patient abuse and neglect, to stealing medication, and giving patients the wrong medication.

The I-Team looked into what nurses did to put their jobs in jeopardy, and how area healthcare facilities responded. Watch the 22News I-Team report on NURSE COMPLAINT INVESTIGATIONS, Thursday, February 14 on 22News at 6pm.
