Will working from home be the new business model after COVID-19?

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Working from home became the new normal for millions of Americans during the COVID-19 pandemic and employers took notice. As restrictions ease, some employees are beginning to return to the workplace but some companies are letting them continue to work from home either full or part time.

Many office buildings in Springfield are still empty as employers face the challenge of providing a safe work environment. Businesses that cater to those workers are feeling the pinch as well as foot traffic in downtowns all but disappeared.

The 22New I-Team contacted several businesses in the Springfield area to find out their back to work plans as the economy recovers from COVID-19. Watch 22News I-Team reporter Mike Masciadrelli’s report, Thursday on 22News at 6pm.
