An improvised explosive device was found in a car at the Northampton fairgrounds Friday night.

Northampton Lt. Allen Borowski told 22News the IED was found in a car allegedly abandoned by three juveniles after a police pursuit that started in South Hadley.

Borowski said the after the pursuit was called off in Northampton, an off duty officer at the fairgrounds saw the three suspects abandon the car and run away.

Within an hour of the car being abandoned, the Massachusetts State Police and Easthampton K-9 Units had been called in and two of the three suspects had been located.
