CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – It’s a debate that’s been going on for years in Massachusetts and across the country: the legalization of marijuana for recreational use. There’s currently a campaign to put the question to a vote to Massachusetts residents on the November ballot.
Medical marijuana in the state was approved in 2012 and is strictly regulated. This week on 22News InFocus, we’ll have a panel discussion on the possibility and impact of marijuana legalized for recreational use in Massachusetts.
We’ll hear about the potential benefits and drawbacks, including legal, social, and health ramifications. You’ll also find out what types of regulations will be put into place to protect children.
This week’s guests are State Senator James Welch, Will Luzier from “The Campaign to Regulate Marijuana like Alcohol,” Northwestern District Attorney David Sullivan and Dr. Robert Roose from Sisters of Providence Health Systems.
If you have concerns about the legalization of marijuana in our state, be sure to watch 22News InFocus, this Sunday at noon.
