Incidents of domestic violence and human trafficking are on the rise in Massachusetts.
Domestic violence can be either or both physical and psychological, but ultimately, it involves the use of fear and intimidation in an effort to control another person. And it’s not only domestic partners, but children and the elderly can be victims as well.
Another issue that seems to go along with domestic violence and the opioid crisis is human trafficking. Again, physical and/or psychological abuse is used to force someone into doing something against their will, usually involving the sex trade.
Both of these issues occur every day here in Western Massachusetts.
This Sunday at noon on 22News InFocus, we’ll be taking a closer look at domestic violence and human trafficking in our region.
