(WWLP) – For the past three weeks, people across the country have been rallying against police brutality, racial profiling, and qualified immunity.
Thursday on 22News InFocus, we were joined by two local police chiefs who told us about new strategies their departments are taking on in response to a national call for improved law enforcement engagement.
“I think there’s a lot of value to that shift. Then when you try to define what is a guardian and you take some of the tasks that we often ask our officers to do like responding to active shooter incidents of violent crimes then you kind of start to cross back over to that warrior mindset,” Chief Michael Wynn from Pittsfield told 22News.
This Sunday on 22News InFocus, we also ask Chief Wynn about defunding the police. Hear his response at noon on Sunday.
