Thursday is “Massachusetts Day” at the Big E. It’s been a celebration of what makes Massachusetts unique among the New England states.
The thousands of visitors to the Massachusetts building included many from western Massachusetts. They have their favorite reasons for visiting the Big E on Massachusetts Day.
“Oh it’s good to have the different types of days they have, it’s nice to walk around meet everyone have a good time,” said Laurie Lafreniere, of Westfield. ‘What is your favorite food?’ The apple cider donuts!
Western Massachusetts is well represented among the food vendors. Springfield’s Koffee Kup Bakery has apparently cornered the market of Boston cream cupcakes.
“They come back year after year,” Lisa Facente said. “They come looking for it, it’s the official Massachusetts Day and they come and they love it!”
The Massachusetts building at the Big E is open daily.
