HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – Have you seen a robot roaming the aisles of your local Stop & Shop?
The 7-foot tall googly-eyed machine is more than just a friendly face– his name is Marty and he’s a robotic assistant that can identify and alert his human co-workers to spills and other hazards.

Stop & Shop parent company Ahold Delhaize USA has deployed nearly 500 of these robots to their stores following a successful pilot program that they say improved in-store efficiencies and safety.
In western Massachusetts, viewers have spotted Marty at Stop & Shop stores in East Longmeadow, Holyoke, and Chicopee.
