On Tuesday, the Springfield Jewish Community Center honored 99-year-old Sylvia Rosen for 30 years as a JCC writing skills teacher.
It’s actually Sylvia Rosen’s second career. She started teaching at the age of 70 after retiring as a columnist for the Springfield Newspapers and an earlier teaching career.
“I can’t tell you how rewarding it has been, the privilege of spending my time with the kinds of people who came to these classes,” Rosen said
May 7 to 11 is Teacher Appreciation Week.
