The Mt. Carmel Society Club & Hall hosted a benefit lunch Saturday afternoon in Springfield’s South End.
For a small fee, guests were able to enjoy an Italian lunch of meatballs, macaroni and bread.
A public K9 demonstration took place earlier in the morning before the lunch.
All proceeds from Saturday’s event will be donated to the K9 Unit.
“What these officers go through on a daily basis…they need everybody’s support. Next year we’ll be here for them,” Mt. Carmel Society President, Frank Magagnoli told 22News.
Magagnoli added that while this is the first year the society has hosted this benefit lunch, they hope it’s the first of many.
