22News spoke with Mary Maguire, President of Public and Government Affairs for AAA Northeast who said, “On any vacation, there are important safety measures that everyone should keep in mind, and particularly important for college students who may be traveling with their peers for the first time.”
AAA provided some tips to ensure your safety during planned vacations.

- Look into your location’s norms, laws, and customs
- Make sure you have technological communication
- WhatsApp is great for international communication
- Keep yourself safe by making smart choices regarding alcohol or other substances
- Use certified transportation only
- Stay healthy, pack the necessities
- And travel smart by staying in reputable properties
