The 24th annual CiderDays celebration offers apple lovers three days of orchard tours, cider making workshops and tastings.
Longtime sponsor of the CiderDays event, Ryan and Casey Liquors in Greenfield told 22News they’re hosting a tasting on Saturday featuring a variety of seasonal offerings for cider lovers.
“We find a lot of people are interested in the process and the apple growing. It’s not just you’re stopping in and sampling, ‘Oh that was good,’ ‘I liked it or I didn’t like it.’ It’s more of a discussion about cider with a lot of the cider reps that are here,” said Kristie Faufaw, co-owner of Ryan and Casey Liquors.
CiderDays has grown into an internationally recognized event that draws visitors from across the U.S., Canada, and even Europe.
Cider tasting events are taking place across Franklin County this weekend.
Local orchards, farms, bars, restaurants, and other businesses are all involved.
“We have the largest selection of ciders in western mass, so for us to sponsor CiderDays, we get a very good turnout for the weekend,” said Pat Zagame, a sales clerk at Ryan and Casey Liquors.
The three-day festival kicks off with a special Friday night workshop at the Hawks & Reed Performing Arts Center in Greenfield.
