Community overdose prevention training held at Shelburne-Buckland Community Center

Franklin County

An event intended to help save lives in Franklin County.

A community overdose prevention training was held at the Shelburne-Buckland Community Center Wednesday night.

Participants learned how to recognize and respond to an opioid overdose. They also learned how to administer Narcan, a life-saving opioid overdose reversal drug.

“We are in the midst of an overdose crisis and there are a lot of people who have been affected by it so we really need to teach as many people as possible how to recognize an overdose and how to respond to one effectively,” said Liz Whynott, director of Tapestry HIV, Health and Prevention.

The Franklin County Opioid Task Force hosted the free training in collaboration with Tapestry Health, CHD, and the North Quabbin Community Coalition.
