Craft fair held at Baystate Franklin in support of patient comfort program

GREENFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - For nearly 40 years, Baystate Franklin Medical Center workers have come together to support hospital programs.

The annual Artisan & Craft Fair is a holiday tradition, put together by current and retired employees and volunteers of Baystate Franklin Medical, to help patients at the hospital.

The proceeds from this year's fair will be used to purchase items for the hospital’s Comfort Cart; items needed that patients may have left at home.

The craft fair, which is organized by the Volunteer Services Department, also offers employees and the community an opportunity to do some holiday shopping while on the job.

“Over the years we've had different venues that have benefited from this within the hospital and I think the comfort cart has different items that are available to people who need certain things a hospital ordinarily wouldn't have in stock,” said Bill Levine, a retired Baystate Franklin Medical Center employee.

Things like toys for kids, eye glasses, head phones, and even iPads to offer distractions.

Items sold at Friday's fair include totes, jewelry, wood crafts, games and so much more.
