Progress is being made in the construction of Greenfield’s downtown parking garage.
Greenfield’s municipal parking garage will be finished in four months and residents are anxious to see its completion. Construction crews have been on Olive Street, building the new parking garage for the past two weeks.
They had a big red crane out there Wednesday lifting large concrete panels and assembling them among the parking garage’s four levels.
The Greenfield parking garage will have 24/7 parking spots when it’s complete.
Dorrie Brooks, an architect with Jones Whitsett Architects, who designed the building told 22News, “Its really going to help provide lots of opportunities.”
She continued to say, “Especially with the new courthouse it will allow more people to come in and use the transit center and the courthouse with no frustration in the local community in terms of parking.”
Brooks added the parking garage will be able to accommodate all vehicles, including electric cars.
She said you will have to pay to use the parking garage but frequent users will be able to purchase monthly permits.
Greenfield’s Parking garage is expected to be finished by the end of October.
