GILL, Mass. (WWLP) - Gill Elementary School students won't be returning to their normal classrooms just yet.
The Gill Fire Department pumped 30 inches of water out of the school's basement, but are still making repairs to the water heater and boiler.
Students were bused on Tuesday from Gill Elementary to Sheffield Elementary School, and the Hillcrest Street School in Turners Falls Tuesday, to continue classes. According to a posting on Gill Elementary's official Facebook page, that will happen again on Wednesday, however, students will only be in class for a half-day, and will be dismissed at 12:05 P.M.
Principal Connor Driscoll says that students should be back to their classrooms at Gill Elementary on Thursday.
Driscoll said that none of the school's classrooms were damaged in the flooding.
