Franklin County showed its appreciation for honeybees Saturday afternoon.
Warm Colors Apiary hosted their annual Honey Festival in South Deerfield.
The free festival gives guests the opportunity to tour an 80 acre open space and learn about beekeeping.
The event began in 2001 as a way to celebrate the importance of the honeybee.
Event organizer Bonita Conlon told 22News, “People don’t know the difference between a honeybee and a yellow jacket. There are differences. Honeybees are not carnivores. They’re usually not aggressive.”
Visitors were also invited to taste honey and honey flavored ice cream, made by Cook’s Farm in Hadley.
