Man killed in car accident in Leyden

Franklin County

LEYDEN, Mass. (WWLP) – A man was killed in a single-car accident in Leyden over the weekend.

Northwestern District Attorney’s Office spokesperson Mary Carey identified the victim as 60-year-old James Pachalis, of Leyden.

Leyden Police Chief Daniel Galvis told 22News Pachalis’ car went off Keets Brook Road, down an embankment and into the water Saturday evening.

He said their investigation so far has led them to believe Pachalis suffered a medical episode prior to crashing his car.

Police are continuing to look into what led up to the deadly accident.
