Orange Police officer rescues injured owl from roadway

Franklin County

An injured owl is recovering after an officer rescued it from the travel lane of New Athol Road on Monday morning.

Orange Police posted on the department’s Facebook page that an officer came across the injured bird sitting on the yellow line on the road Christmas Eve morning.

“The weather was chilly, the snow was starting to blow when out of the mist came Officer Seo,” the police department said in the post.

Officer Seo removed the injured owl from the roadway, provided shelter for it and called the Orange Fire Department for further assistance.

“He is now at bird rehab and snuggled in tight,” the police department added.
