GREENFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The Cannabis Control Commission has approved a final retail license for Patriot Care in Greenfield.
The final license was approved at a public meeting Thursday.
In order for Patriot Care to being selling recreational marijuana at its Greenfield location, it has to complete a few more steps before receiving the final notice to begin adult-use operations.
Patriot Care, located on Legion Avenue in downtown Greenfield, must undergo an inspection, have all marijuana establishment inventory properly tagged and uploaded into the required seed-to-sale tracking system, and have all marijuana establishment agents successfully registered and properly badged.
One Turners Falls woman told 22News, now that marijuana is legal, why shouldn't it be approved.
"I absolutely support it being approved," said Tracy Buddington of Turners Falls. "I feel it's kind of obvious at this point why it should be, so absolutely [I] am."
Since late November, nine retail marijuana stores have opened their doors and regulators say they expect four to eight new stores opening each month.
The CCC has also approved final retail licenses for marijuana establishments in Montague and Orange.
