Rally planned at Wendell State Forest to protest plan to cut down acres of trees

A rally will be held Saturday to protest a plan to cut down dozens of acres of trees in western Massachusetts.

The Wendell State Forest Alliance is hosting the “The people have spoken: save our oaks” rally Saturday afternoon in Millers Falls.

Activists are attempting to stop a plan to cut down nearly 80 acres of trees at Wendell State Forest.

Nearly 1,000 people have signed a petition for the Department of Conservation to halt this plan.

The rally begins at 1 p.m. at Wendell State Forest.
