DEERFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A box truck driver was taken to the hospital Thursday afternoon after becoming trapped inside the truck’s cab following an accident on Route 116.
According to Deerfield police, the accident happened near the Deerfield-Conway town line at around 1:00 p.m.
The driver had to be freed from the truck by South Deerfield and Conway firefighters before being taken to Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton with ‘non life-threatening injuries.’
Route 116 is expected to be cleared of debris from the accident by 3:00 p.m. Police are still looking into what led up to the crash.
