Woman killed, two others seriously hurt in car crash in Heath

Franklin County

A 20 year-old woman from Shelburne Falls was killed, and two other people were seriously hurt in a single-car crash in western Franklin County Sunday night.

According to Massachusetts State Police Media Relations, troopers are looking into what caused the driver of a 2001 Toyota Camry to lose control of the vehicle and crash head-on into a tree off Dell Road in Heath at around 7:45 P.M.

When troopers got to the crash site, they discovered three people who were all out of the car. One of them, a 20 year-old woman, died from her injuries in the accident, while two others, a 21 year-old woman from Colrain and a 28 year-old man from Hinsdale, New Hampshire, were seriously injured. Those two were taken to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.

The identity of the woman killed in the crash is not being released until her family can be properly notified.

State troopers are still looking into what led up to the crash, including who was driving the vehicle at the time.
