Hampden County

Eleven Springfield residents are homeless after a house fire on Lebanon Street early Tuesday evening.

Springfield Fire Department spokesman Dennis Leger told 22News crews were called to a working fire at 95-97 Lebanon St. around 5:10 p.m.

A section of Lebanon St. at the intersection of Nelson Avenue was closed as crews worked to put out the house fire.

Leger said the fire was caused by a vehicle, Jeep CJ, in the driveway that spread to the house. No injuries were reported.

Leger added that the Red Cross is assisting the 11 residents without a home.
