2 Chicopee residents homeless after Bernard St. house fire

Hampden County

Firefighters helped put out a fire in the Bernard Street area Tuesday evening.

Chicopee police told 22News fire crews were called to 68 Bernard St. for a structure fire a little before 7 p.m.

Officer Mike Wilk told 22News the single-family home sustained interior damage.

Officer Wilk added that no one was inside the house when the fire started but the two residents of the home are now homeless.

Bernard St. was closed for hours.
