Fire officials are looking into a kitchen fire on Woodmont Street that left two people without a home Tuesday afternoon.
The city’s fire department spokesman Dennis Leger told 22News crews were called to 124 Woodmont St. where they found a kitchen fire on the third floor around 2:55 p.m.
Leger said the fire was quickly put out with no injuries reported.
The two residents of the home have to find another place to stay as the kitchen fire caused $20,000 in damages.
The Springfield Arson and Bomb Squad are still trying to determine what caused the fire.
