7 trucks damaged in Springfield fire

Hampden County

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Seven trucks were damaged in a fire at Springfield Auto & Truck Equipment on Bay Street Wednesday night.

Springfield Fire Department spokesman Dennis Leger told 22News two trucks were on fire when firefighters got to the property. Five other trucks were damaged by heat exposure.

Leger said electrical malfunction was the cause of the original fire in a salt sander at the back of one of the trucks.
