It was a night filled with fun at Chicopee High School.
Chicopee High’s Class of 2019 hosted their 8th annual “Dancing with the Teachers” event Thursday. Seniors paired up with a favorite teacher to choreograph and perform two dances.
Trophies were awarded to the top three acts, as well as to the fan favorite and best costume. The fundraiser doubled as a food drive to benefit Lorraine’s Soup Kitchen.
“This helps with dues, this helps with prom,” said Siobhan Smalley, advisor of Class of 2019. “Everything monetary which is super important for these kids because we’re in a 70 percent poverty district.”
This year’s theme was “Dancing Through the Decades.”
Chicopee High’s “Dancing with the Teachers” fundraiser is usually the senior class’ most profitable fundraiser of the year.
