Dozens of people came together Saturday night to dance and celebrate at Pathlight’s annual “Let’s Dance!” event.
Let’s Dance! is much like the dancing competition, Dancing with the Stars, only in this case the stars are people served by Pathlight. The non-profit community organization serves people with intellectual disabilities throughout Massachusetts.
The Pathlight stars were paired with community members, and together they rehearsed a dance routine to perform Saturday night at the Let’s Dance! celebration.
Executive director Ruth Banta told 22News, “Pathlight supports people with disabilities to be part of their community. And we love the community supporting us in order to make that happen.”
Fans voted for their favorite couple or couples at the event. All money raised was to support enrichment programs for people with disabilities.
22News’ own Lauren Zenzie of Mass Appeal was one of Saturday night’s judges.
